| The interior workshop offers the chance
to actually see the honey extraction process taking place. A shop inside the inn has a huge range of honey and related items  available for purchase. Dozens of large hives are scattered around the outside of the inn with at least a dozen or more active at any one time, mostly near the pool at the bottom of the hill. It is said that even today the local inhabitants of Doverdale still smear their newly born children with Doverdale Honey in a ritual which predates Christianity. The health giving and medical qualities are said to prove its worth. |
